The Little Garden BookThe Little Garden

"The Little Garden" is an engaging tale that combines the imaginative talent of writers Rhonda Johnson and Frank Paladin with the artistic skills of young illustrators Ashton Davidson and Holly Amber. While relating the story of a little girl and a vine, this book leads children on a journey to discover friendship, the beauty of nature, and the healing power of unconditional love.

When Grace receives a flowerpot containing a small vine as a birthday present, she nurtures it with love and tenderness. As the vine grows bigger and begins to blossom, the young girl replants it near an old brick wall in her garden. In the beginning, the vine droops, but before long, it recovers its strength and starts growing into a healthy plant. As the days go by, it conceives a plan to climb the top of the wall to find out "what undiscovered country might be on the other side." The vine becomes so obsessed with the ludicrous idea of climbing the wall to see a new country that it ignores the loving girl who planted it. Feeling sad and heartbroken, Grace stops visiting the garden.

What happens to the selfish vine now? Does it succeed in the pursuit of its foolish quest? Will it realize the value of love and mend its broken friendship with Grace? Will beautiful, fragrant flowers bloom once again in Grace's garden? Valuable messages have been subtly woven into this delightful tale for the picture book audience. This story will also foster an interest for gardening in children and encourage them to care for plants gently. The superb crayon illustrations bring alive the tale and deftly capture the emotions of the characters. Coupled with an appealing dust jacket, large type, and enriching vocabulary, this hardbound book is a valuable addition to a child's library.

Hole in My Stocking

A boy named Daniel, who has never experienced the joy of gift giving at Christmas, dreams of a visit from Santa to make his dreams come true.

When nothing goes as planned, Daniel still continues his quest and never gives up hope, since the spirit inside him knows that giving to others is the true meaning of Christmas.

"This is what Christmas is all about.  We can all learn from Daniel's joyful spirit and his giving nature no matter what disappointments befall him.  This book should be read by everyone for its message is a dear as the Christmas season itself."
